I've past this place a few times and decided to try it out. I got the 78 since they were out of the 79. I thought it was pretty good. I ate it with my hands, I wish I had rice paper since i ended up using the lettuce to eat it as a wrap. The waitress told me to "put in the bowl" of fish sauce but I didn't know if she meant to dip it or to add it and eat it straight from the bowl. Either way, it was pretty good and filling. Only comment is that they don't clear their tables quickly. I saw leftover bowls on empty tables for a long time even though it was pretty empty when I was there.

First time at this Vietnamese restaurant serving a variety of dishes including Hanoi (northern) and Saigon (southern) styles of pho. The owner, Anthony took our order and explained they differ by noodle width, sweetness of broth, and choice of herbs and sauce. With an extensive menu I decided on the #78 Hanoi Special Grilled Pork Vermicelli ...the owner said "it's a special dish we used to only serve on the weekends"...it's similar to bun (rice vermicelli salad) . DIFFERENCE: :: Herbs - no cilantro or the standard mint but shiso (tía tô), and fish mint (diếp cá) with lettuce for making a wrap. The herbs have a stronger flavor and a slight fish taste. :: Vietnamese egg roll (Nem Rán) - made with rice paper (vs wheat wrappers) which the owner says a brand he gets from Vietnam...filling of pork AND crab meat :: Dipping sauce was less sweet and more like a broth Savory grilled pork (thịt nướng) and pork patty (Bun Cha) were both flavorful and delicious with noticeable garlic and tad of sweetness. Accompanied by rice noodles, julienne cucumber and pickled carrots and daikon. A refreshing and delicious dish and will get this over the Southern style vermicelli on a next visit. Place is casual but clean, spacious with friendly, welcoming and helpful service. I recommend the #78 Special Grilled Pork dish that's hidden under the Special - Egg Noodle - Pasta section (4th page of the menu). Pricing is in line with other like places but Pho Thin Hanoi is very generous with their portions that you'll have leftover. Friend enjoyed her chicken bun, Thai iced tea and the wings were nice and crispy! Plenty of lot parking

Thanks to Yelp, I just discovered Pho Thin Ha Noi, a newish restaurant, when searching for a spot that stays open late (and by "late" I mean serves after 8 p.m.). Although there's no shortage of Vietnamese spots around San Leandro, the food quality, friendly service, stress-free parking and pleasant dining environment made me eager to return. Both times I've been there, I ordered a broken rice plate. (I love the generous serving of rice.) San Leandro Pho Thin Ha Noi's hours are extensive: 10 a.m. to 10 pm., Tuesday through Sunday. (This is the second Pho Thin Ha Noi; the first is in Milpitas.) Pho Thin Ha Noi is a comfortable, low-key spot for a reliably delicious meal: Service is fast and eager to please. Servings are generous and tasty. Parking is easy in the restaurant's private lot. Seating is plentiful in the large and clean space, which has a diner-like feel. I think this is the beginning of a beautiful relationship.
